Helix – Wild In The Streets

“Wild in the Streets” is the sixth studio album by Canadian band Helix, released on June 21, 1987, via Capitol Records. Recorded at The Manor in Oxfordshire, England, and Phase One Studios in Toronto, Canada, the album was produced by Mike Stone and Neil Kernon.

“Wild in the Streets” delivers ten hard-hitting tracks, kicking off with the anthemic title song co-written by guitarist Paul Hackman and Ray Lyell. The album also includes a gritty cover of Nazareth’s classic “Dream On,” adding a Helix twist to the original. One of the standout cuts is “She’s Too Tough,” a high-energy number written by none other than Def Leppard’s frontman, Joe Elliott.

Despite achieving gold status in Canada, the album peaked at #179 on the U.S. Billboard 200, leading to the band’s departure from Capitol Records.

The lineup on this album included Brian Vollmer (vocals), Brent “Doctor” Doerner and Paul Hackman (guitars), Daryl Gray (bass, keyboards), and Greg “Fritz” Hinz (drums), with guest appearances by Don Airey (keyboards) and drummers Mickey Curry and Brian Doerner.

In 2011, “Wild in the Streets” was remastered and reissued by Rock Candy Records,
