Canada’s ‘Metal Queen’ Lee Aaron has revealed that she is currently in pre-production for her first studio album in a decade, and is aiming for a 2015 release.
“I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from recording, or I ‘had’ taken a bit of a hiatus from recording, because I became a mom a few years ago. But I’m getting back into writing and recording this year and hope to have the new studio album out in 2015,” Aaron told Instant Authority Expert in a recent interview.
“I’m also working with a gentleman from Toronto, a guitar played named Sean Kelly — he’s amazing,” Aaron continued. “He and I are great buds and he’s been playing in my live band and we’re writing some material together as well — so yeah, its been rockin’!”
Aaron and Kelly recently worked together on the guitarist’s ‘Metal On Ice’ compilation, re-recording the singer’s 1984 hit single “Metal Queen”. Sean Kelly has also worked with fellow Canadians Helix, appearing and writing on both ‘Vagabond Bones’ and ‘Bastard Of The Blues’, and also fronted his own band named Crash Kelly.
