Official video of the opening track of Britny Fox’s debut album. Released in 1988 the single of ‘Girschool’ reached #81 of the US Hot 100 chart.
A school bell rings off the day,
Brings in a stray a few girls at play.
Cut school pink slips are fine
For a good time there’s boys on their mind.
A bad girl smoking in school,
Breaking the rules acting real cool.
Talkin’ ’bout all the rock boys,
Back seat joys with some boy’s toy.
At the girl school, cause my baby broke all the rules.
Saddle shoes uniforms blue,
Love all the girls in the girl school.
Traffic jam in the hallway
Ooh I’m gonna stay this makes my day.
Well here they come girls from the school,
Breakin’ the rules hot on the loose.
My girl left right from school,
Came over to my house, ooh…

Australian Hair Metal band formed in Sydney in 1982 under the name As The Young Lions. A few line-up changes and two name changes (initially called “The Young Lions”) until 1986. “Black Leather” is the second single from their 1988 deput album which made it to the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at 98th position. Kings Of The Sun toured the United States and Europe and then returned to Australia in 1988 to open for Guns N’ Roses.

Spanish band that got international exposure and released three albums, the last one in 1994. Formed towards the end of 1985 under the name Tora Tora they quickly gained a strong local following and raving reviews! After the name change and several successful live appearances Niagara stimulated loads of interest in the international music press. Kerrang! journalist Derek Oliver (who was also A&R manager for Atlantic at the time) gave them a praising five “K” review and their debut “Now or Never” that was just released toped the British charts! Two nearly sold-out British tours followed shortly after. “Now or Never” is an excellent album of melodic Hair Metal very characteristic of the late 1980s! Give it a good listen and make sure you add it to your collection.

Based in West Fife and started in the early 80’s Garrison went on to be one of the best rock bands to come out of Scotland and toured extensively with the likes of Dare, Thunder, and Ian Gillan. Between 1988 and 1991 the band recorded a bunch of great demos which attracted Atlantic Records to offer them a deal. The band started recording their debut in 1990, but the upcoming Grunge wave put everything to rest. What a pity, cause we’re talking about a fantastic British band next to TOBRUK, FM, SHY or HEAVY PETTIN.
In 2013 AOR Heaven released the compilation CD “Garrison – The Demo Recordings”, a limited edition of 500 copies

Official video from Dare’s debut album “Out of the Silence” which was released in 1988 on A&M Records. ‘Abandon” toped at #71 in the UK Singles Chart in 1989
Dare formed by ex-Thin Lizzy’s Keyboard Player Darren Wharton. He also does a great job on lead vocals, which suit the songs perfectly, and there are some fantastic guitar solos, which focus strongly on melody rather than speed.
